I've just launched a new blog about the colour blue.

It may seem like an unusual subject. But it's a great theme for me because I am keen on art, design and language and blue has had a strong influence in all these areas, as you will discover in this new blog.

The Colour Blue will cover the many things blue in our world, such as the use of the word blue in music, emotions and language.

Date Positive blog online

We've launched a dedicated blog to track the progress of Date Positive.

The actual site will relaunch within a week and there'll be a lot happening. The blog will track the ongoing growth of the site and the experiences of running an online business.

It will also offer online dating tips, advice on how to write a profile and articles on relationships.

Global short story competition launched

A monthly short story competition has been launched and is open to writers across the globe.

The Global Short Story Competition began in December 2007 and has already completed the first month's competition. It has been organised by a group of creative professionals based in the North of England.

The competition is designed to appeal to writers everywhere, from the arid outback of Australia to the baking deserts of Africa, the towering skyscrapers of the United States to the humid cities of Asia, the bustling capitals of Europe to the steamy villages of South America.

Blog improvements

I've made a few improvements to Blog Eclectic in the last few weeks.

A new category and date archive search function has been added, making it a lot easier to find archived content.

And as well as adding Akismit spam control, there's also a maths question test for humans to complete when leaving comments in an effort to keep out automated spam!
