For big changes, start small

By Anth Quinn. Part 5.

People often know they aren't living the life they would like to. They may even have a clear goal but don't seem able to make long-term sustainable change in their lives.

Even when they develop clear goals, decide on a plan and take action, somehow they lose their way and find themselves back where they started - sometimes in a worse spot than before!

Decisions, decisions

By Anth Quinn. Part 4.

Now you've accepted personal responsibility for your experience of life and set yourself a powerful mix of long and short-term goals. Your life may be about to change dramatically.

You'll probably find that taking these two steps alone will change your life, as you'll know you are in control, you'll know where you want to be. And chances are that it isn't where you are now. Great post Anth! It's so important to know how to use goals in your life. I especially like your focus on emotions. Most people's goal conflicts seem to come from logically knowing what they should do, but not having their emotions in agreement. And in the end, emotions usually decide your behavior.

We've just launched the beta of GoalTribe.com a site that walks people step-by-step through the goal achievement process, and makes it really easy for people to keep each other committed until they succeed. We'd love to hear your feedback on the site!

What do you want from life?

By Anth Quinn. Part 2.

After accepting personal responsibility, the next step in taking control of your life is to develop a clear set of goals.

Clear goals are essential building the life you want, rather than the one you've grown into. Goals will provide direction and motivation and if set well, they can literally transform your life.
