I'm going to share some of our experiences with you so you can avoid the same mistakes and, as a small business, make the best use of your marketing budget.

But before you advertise, be sure to have in place a tracking system so you'll be able to measure what works and what doesn't. Without this, you won't be able to tell where customers are coming from or what generates results.

Women get free Premium membership

One of the issues with dating websites is that they usually attract a higher number of men than women.

The reasons for this are varied, and show that women are a bit more hesitant when it comes to online dating. They often also wait for men to take the initiative and send messages first.

We've decided to offer women full Premium membership free for six months at www.datepositive.net. The site has more than 2,100 members, but has a greater number of men than women and we need to address the imbalance.

This Easter sale gives a Standard member a chance to become a Premium member for half the price!

We're running the sale over a five-day period during what is usually a slower time for many businesses when people are taking their first break of the year. We hope it will boost interest in the site as well as make it accessible to even more people.
